CONTENT // THE MODERN NONPROFIT
While we’ve tried and tested many of the options out there, we’re now big fans of Mailchimp as an email marketing solution for small nonprofits.
In the physical world, keeping yourself and your belongings secure is a fairly obvious task: you can lock your front door or the doors to your car. You make sure never to leave your belongings unattended in a public place. Even your debit card requires a pin for use at the atm or grocery store—and you keep that number a secret. You employ a number of habits to ensure that you stay safe out there in the world.
But what about online?
Why should your nonprofit partner with a for-profit company?
There’s one obvious benefit to nonprofit-corporate partnerships: every nonprofit could use financial support from a partner in the for-profit sector. But, as with any relationship, it can’t be just about the money.
For those who want to use their CRM to raise more money from existing supporters, we’re looking at why data hygiene is a big deal and sharing best practices that will help ensure your donor data gets—and stays—clean, leading to improved donor relations.
Finding the right CRM software can be a game changer for your nonprofit. When you start searching for new CRM software, you’ll have the chance to schedule product demonstrations with potential vendors. Demos let you see their software in action and can be essential to finding the right product for your nonprofit’s needs.

We’re thrilled to introduce you to Casey Jereb, our new HEAL Internship Coordinator. She will be inheriting the role from Will Yokeley, who has generously volunteered his time over the past five years to engage and support student interns volunteering at the Roatán Volunteer Pediatric Clinic (RVPC) through our Health Education & Advocacy Liaisons program.
People thrive by the goodness of others. During my time in Vietnam, I am always struck by the openness, trust and dedication that make caring for the vulnerable children and newborns in the intensive care units (ICUs) possible.
In November, our team will be running the Berkeley Half Marathon 10K. We’ve been spending our early mornings and evenings after work training to prepare, some of us building up to the 6.2 mile distance, while others try to improve their race time.
During our trip to Vietnam this past January, we sat down with the Pediatric ICU (PICU) nurses and physicians at the National Hospital of Pediatrics (renamed the Vietnam National Children’s Hospital in April) to learn more about them and their experience with Global Healing.
He has traveled over 500,000 miles, making 36 trips to Vietnam in the past 17 years. We like to think that Dr. Partridge has gone to the moon and back (in miles, quite literally) to improve emergency care for children in Vietnam.
